                                        Job Title:   Engineer

Working Area:  District Dadu, Jamshoro, Badin, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar and Jacobabad.  

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1. Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 01 years of experience in projects involving construction and rehabilitation.

 

1. Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Site Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of damaged homes and infrastructure to determine the extent of damage and the requirements for reconstruction.
• Technical Planning: Develop detailed construction plans, including structural designs, cost estimates, and timelines for each project.
• Construction Oversight: Supervise and manage construction teams, ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant building codes and standards.
• Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that all construction work meets the highest standards of quality and durability.
• Community Engagement: Work closely with affected families and communities, involving them in the decision-making process and addressing their concerns and needs.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project progress, expenses, and challenges, and provide regular updates to the organization's management.
• Budget Management: Manage project budgets effectively, ensuring that funds are utilized efficiently and transparently.
• Safety: Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
• Sharing Information on multi-hazard resilient construction methods with communities and housing grant beneficiaries.
• Ensuring Construction/Rehabilitation of the house as per the guidelines.
• Coordinate the water, sanitation, and hygiene component of the Project and maintain overall responsibility for technical oversight of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) activities.
• Perform any other official task assigned by the Supervisor/Management.

• Knowledge of civil engineering works.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and challenging environment.
• Knowledge of local construction regulations and building codes in Pakistan is a plus.
• Fluency in Sindhi is highly desirable.
